Custom Performance Engineering is releasing an intake upgrade kit for the 3.8l V6 Genesis Coupe – the Xcel□™ (XcelBox™)
Following the design and engineering behind the intake for the 2.0T, cp-e™ is utilizing the air box design in the V6 variant. The concept is the same with some modifications for the slightly different application.
The main features of this air box design are in the box itself. The stainless steel that is used in the box works as a great heat insulator, ensuring that the filter and air intake is kept in a cooler environment that that of the engine bay. We fully ulitizie the factory air scoop to maximize the air intake. Slats on the side of the box help with scooping up additional, cooler air from behind the headlight as well. Custom silicone hose connects the OE air mass meter to the throttle body, incorporating the OE crank case ventilation in the OE position as well.
The cp-e™ Xcel□™ intake system is a direct upgrade from the OEM intake and is a fully bolt-on application, requiring no modification to the vehicle.
The result of the design yields great performance increases – the gains speak for themselves supporting the theory and engineering behind the product. An impressive gain of 15 whp and 10 wtq.
