Race Report: Team GenRacer takes solid points haul at Sonoma!

GenRacer fought hard at Sonoma Raceway to take a double points finish at the opening rounds of the 2022 TC America season.

• Drivers Jeff Ricca and Nick Barbato show strong pace in opening rounds

Team GenRacer fought hard and overcame adversity to take a well-earned double points finish at the opening rounds of the 2022 SRO TC America season at Sonoma, CA. After being hampered by rain and some mechanical challenges during testing, the team was able to make some great improvements to the cars and driver’s Jeff Ricca in the Liqui-Moly #78 and Nick Barbato in the X-Clutch #88 hit the ground running in a damp qualifying session. Despite difficult mixed weather conditions, Nick and Jeff put down top qualifying times early in the session, on outside pole position and P3 respectively. Although the cars were forced to take grid positions further back, the drivers worked their way through the field in both races, taking fourth and fifth position in the final race, with some thrilling battles along the way and crossing the finish line in formation for a solid points haul toward the team championship! Engine performance and durability in both race cars was strong all weekend thanks to Liqui-Moly oils and friction modifiers, and Nick’s 6-speed manual transmission car made precise, reliable shifts during all race sessions thanks to his X-Clutch setup!

Overall, the team showed great pace and the target is multiple podiums in Ozark’s next month!
